Hear from our Scholarship winners!

On CAEL Live, we spoke with both of our CAEL Scholarship winners, Rafea and Howard. and heard about their experiences as international students about their journeys to study in Canada. Learn more about the CAEL Scholarships here.

An international student from Iraq, Rafea discussed how she developed her English language skills before moving to Canada, the kinds of research she did when she was deciding where she wanted to study and what field she wanted to pursue, and how she heard about and applied for the CAEL Scholarships.

An international student from China, Howard originally studied artificial intelligence at Kenya University, before deciding to pursue graduate education in Canada. He discussed how he found out about CAEL, how to prepared for the test, and how he decided to apply for the CAEL Scholarships.

What are the CAEL Scholarships?

The CAEL Scholarships are our way of helping our test takers reach their goal of studying in Canada. This year, we are excited to announce two scholarships for international students: $4,000 each, one to a student currently studying in Canada, and one to a student currently studying overseas. Two $500 runner-up prizes are awarded to international students in Canada and two $500 runner-up prizes are awarded to international students abroad.

What I liked most about the CAEL was that you can do the test on the computer, it uses Canadian English, and the results are released quickly!

I appreciated the availability of test dates for CAEL, and found it convenient and inexpensive compared to other English proficiency tests.
