CAEL Assessment Registration - Ottawa
An Official Test Centre

Registration for the CAEL Assessment at all official test centres is now online.
Registration deadlines are noted within each test centre webpage. Walk-in registrations will not be accepted.

Hours of operation of the CAEL Assessment Office at Carleton University are
Monday - Thursday from 11:00am to 3:30pm. Please note the office is closed on Friday.

 

On the day of the Assessment, you must bring:

  1. your Proof of Registration;
  2. the identification listed on your Proof of Registration; and
  3. a recent passport-size photograph which you will give to the staff at the test centre when presenting your Proof of Registration.

You will NOT be allowed to enter the testing room with any other belongings
(e.g., bags, backpacks, books, papers, etc.).

NO electronic devices of any kind are allowed in the testing room.
 

IMPORTANT
If you miss either your Oral Language Test (OLT) or the written assessment your results will not be processed. NO EXCEPTIONS. You will have to register and pay the CAEL Assessment fees again.

If you wish to change your registration to another test date, you may do so only once. You must contact the Ottawa CAEL Assessment Office 48 hours before the test date for which you have registered. If you miss the test without first advising the CAEL Assessment Office, you will forfeit your test fee refund of $25.00.
